Connors & Connors, P.C. is a Martindale Hubble “AV”
rated and the only Richmond County A.M. Best listed firm which represents
a wide variety of insurers and self insured corporations in civil
litigation throughout the greater New York metropolitan area. Founded
in 1955 by John P. Connors, the firm originally was located in Manhattan.
From 1955 to 1980, John P. Connors, P.C. represented litigants in
thousands of personal injury cases throughout the City of New York.
In 1980, the firm constructed its own professional office building
and moved to its present location. Since then, the firm has expanded
both its client lists and fields of expertise. At present, the firm
represents numerous clients as attorneys of record and trial counsel
in the City of New York and Northern New Jersey. We pride ourselves
on our ability to thoroughly analyze issues presented and develop
a litigation strategy which reflects our clients’ goals and
objectives.

Over the past five decades, we have enthusiastically defended over
20,000 claims alleging negligence in the ownership, operation, maintenance,
renting and leasing of vehicles; negligence in the ownership, maintenance
and control of commercial and residential properties; negligence
in the hiring, training and supervision of employees; negligence
in the design, manufacture and distribution of products; dental,
legal and accounting malpractice, negligence in providing security
services at academic institutions, hotels, hospitals and municipal
facilities and the defense of the seemingly endless proliferation
of no-fault claims brought by medical providers. Although our clients
present us with differing factual scenarios and legal issues, their
needs and expectations regarding legal services are the same. We
therefore endeavor to work closely with our clients, risk managers,
claims managers, third party administrators and corporate counsel
in the defense of all claims.
In addition, we have broadened our practice in recent years to include
acting as general counsel to Wagner College, recognized by U.S.
News and World Report as a “Top Tier” liberal arts college
and Northfield Saving Bank, a Staten Island based thrift with over
$1,000,00,000 in assets, serving customers in New York and New Jersey.
Given our diversified client base, our cases are venued throughout
the City of New York, Nassau and Suffolk counties. For the convenience
of our clients, we have recently opened an office in downtown Manhattan
at 17 Battery Place to augment the services provided by our main
office in Staten Island.
Over the years, our firm has enjoyed a close working relationship
with both the bench and bar particularly in Richmond, Kings and
New York counties. In addition, members of our firm have served
the local and state bar associations in both elected and appointed
positions. John P. Connors, Jr. is President Elect of the Richmond
Country Bar Association and Chair of the RCBA Committee on Continuing
Legal Education and serves as a member of the Board of Directors
of Northfield Savings Bank. In addition, he addressed the Annual
Meetings of the Torts, Insurance and Compensation and Trial Sections
of the NYSBA in January of 2004 and chaired the New York State Bar
Association Trial Lawyers Section Meeting in August of 2004.
John P. Connors (1954-2003) was a member of the Judicial Screening
Committee for the Second Judicial Department and former counsel
to State Senator John Marchi. Harold J. Siegel is a senior member
of the Richmond County Bar Association and a member of the Judicial
Screening Committee, past President of the Staten Island Trial Lawyers
Association and a member of the Judicial Screening Committee of
the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Michael B. Kelly
is a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar
Association Trial Lawyers Section.
In addition to our various activities on behalf of state and local
bar associations, John P. Connors, Jr., Harold J. Siegel and Michael
B. Kelly have lectured on premises liability, negligent security,
cross examination of experts, civil trial practice, jury selection
and insurance coverage.
Our firm is structured to deliver high quality legal services on
a cost-efficient basis. All cases are initially reviewed by John
P. Connors, Jr. and assigned to either Mr. Connors or one of our
senior associates. Each senior associate is coupled with a junior
associate to assist in discovery. We believe that teaming associates
provides maximum attention to detail in a cost effective manner.
We also believe that preparation is an indispensable ingredient
to achieving a successful result. As such, a weekly meeting is held
on Wednesday evenings amongst the attorneys and paralegals. The
purpose of the meeting is to review all matter for the coming week
to guarantee that all cases are properly prepared for trial, depositions,
discovery, motion practice or pre-trial conferences.
Experience has proven that regular communication between counsel
and client is essential to achieve a predictable outcome. We have
